PVC WINDOWS INSTALLATION AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS INSTALLATION:

Be sure opening is square, plumb and level.

PVC Window unit comes completely assembled and ready to install.

Lift the handle on each side of the unit to unlock the multi-point locking system.

Open PVC window by turning crank handle. Operator handles are not shipped attached to the unit to avoid damaging them. It is important that the set screw in the handle is secured to the handle shaft on the operator. This ensures proper operation of sash.

Frame has pre-drilled holes to receive tapcon screws for installation into masonry frame. Do not over-tighten screws and bow frame outward. Shim as needed. Tapcon screws have been provided in your shipment along with a proper sized drill bit. It is important to ensure the frame is square, level and plumb for easy and proper operation.

Cover screws with grommets (PVC caps) to conceal holes. The locking devices must be disassembled and removed from PVC frame to allow access to installation holes. Once grommets are inserted, locking devices must be re-attached. It is imperative to make sure grommets do not interfere with action of the locking device. The frame and sash are both reinforced with aluminum channels for more secure hardware attachment. It is important that care is taken so that any screws removed and replaced are not stripped.

Before snapping drain cover onto drain on outside of unit, be sure the drain holes are clear of concrete residue to allow water to escape via these openings. Do not close these holes with any building materials. This drain system allows water to escape to the outside of the unit. Improper sealing of these holes may cause water to enter building.

All hardware has been adjusted in our factory to work properly on perfectly square, level, plumb unit. No adjustments should be needed if unit is installed per instruction.

All grooves holding gasket must be free of concrete and dirt. Gasket must be in groove properly. If you see gasket coming out of the groove, it simply pushes back in place. Gasket at 90c corners must be pressed firmly in place to allow best seal.

IMPORTANT: Do not allow anyone to force excessive amounts of filler between window frame and opening so that frame is forced in onto sash. After opening is finished, a bead of silicone should be applied where concrete meets pvc window, preventing water from entering between pvc window and masonry.

PVC WINDOWS AND DOORS INSTALLATION

It is the responsibility of the window installer to add rigidity by creating a sandwich situation which is also called an interior/exterior blind stop.

A blind stop is created by the process of adding stucco or concrete slope to the exterior of the pvc window or door frame. The concrete slope, butt to the frame, is implemented for water evacuation purposes and will bring rigidity to the installation of the products.

The inside should also be protected as well by using dry-wall, timber or otherwise.

OPERATION :

TO OPEN

Lift both handles on vertical portion of frame to unlock multi-point locking system.

Turn operator to push sash away from frame.

TO CLOSE

Turn operator to pull sash to frame.

Put both handles down, engaging multi-point locking system.

SCREEN

Screen attaches to inside of window with plastic plungers. Simply pull the plungers in, line up and insert plunger into pre-drilled holes in frame of unit.

REPAIR PROCEDURE :

In the event it becomes necessary to replace the glass in your unit, follow these steps:

Remove damaged or faulty glass from sash:

Break silicone bond between glass and glazing bead with a putty knife.

Remove all glazing beads by forcing center of bead away from glass, unsnapping the ends.

With all glazing beads removed, the putty knife should be used to break bond between glass and frame.

Glass can then be removed from sash, and the cavity can be cleared of any remaining silicone with a razor blade.

To secure replacement glass in sash, lay a 1/8 bead of silicone around sash's glass cavity and lay glass in silicone bed.

Replace glazing beads, starting with shortest beads first. Bend glazing bead so that both corners are lined up and use a rubber mallet to gently but firmly force glazing bead to glass. The ends will snap into place.
