The selection of hardware accessories on pvc windows and doors relates crucially with the profile¡¯s structural elements. The hardware, when installed, should match the mounting groove for hardware on the profiles. Therefore, the shape and dimension of hardware are constrained by grooves on the profile. At present, The mounting groove for hardware on Yatai profile for window adopts European 12/20-9 series standard, i.e. the working clearance for the hardware is 12mm and the profile¡¯s overlap is 20mm. The distance between the hardware¡¯s centerline and small side of the frame profile is 9mm, as shown by figure 1-15.

I Introduction of main hardware for casement windows
1. Hinges for casement windows
(1) Classification
Common hinges for casement windows are mainly classified into bolt-type and link-rod hinge (sliding support). The bolt-type hinge is comprised of axle and sleeve, the link rod hinges is divided into four and five link-rod depending on the number of link rods.

The casement window¡¯s hinges serves for better matching between the window frame and sash and bears the deadweight of the window sash and the wind load. The two hinges are different in opening and closing. The first opens the window sash by taking the sash¡¯s side frame as the rotation axis. While, the link-rod hinge opens the window sash through the transmission between the link rods and sliding, Both of them have merits and shortcomings. The bolt hinge has a simple structure, favorable price, convenience for assembly and maintenance, strong loading capacity, but is difficult in cleaning the glass, The link-rod hinge could open the sash to a certain degree through the friction between the link rods. It is easier to clean the glass, but has a weaker loading capacity.

Follow JG/T125-2000 standard when selecting the hinge for casement windows, Pay attention to comparison of hinge materials and treatment of outer surface coating.
a, The pintle is made from Q235 carbon steel in GB/T905.
b, The axle sleeve and inter seal is made from nylon 1010.
c, The surface sprayed coat is polyester powder paint.
d, The sprayed coat has homogeneous and uniform color and is free from defects of bubbles, sag, falling off and paint pileup, etc.
e, The oxidized layer is homogeneous and free from defects of yellowy, base exposed or scorched.
f, The surface is free from defects of burrs and rags.

2, Handles for casement windows
(1), Functions
A handle is a device used to close and open the window or door and also locks and seals.
(2) Classifications
As viewed from closing/opening modes of casement doors and window, the handles could be classified into outward and inward opening ones. After closing with the handle of an outward casement window, one must use the window handle to clamp the sash on the frame. The handle of an inward casement window is generally linked with the driver¡¯s gearbox and opens/closes the inward casement window by turning the handle. The handle of and outward casement window is generally used by itself. While, the handle of and inward casement window is generally used together with a driver and hinge.
